Complaint posts : Political Correctness

Ahh political correctness, the reason we can't have conversations without hesitation. It's that sort of thing where you can't call someone black, they're "african-american" even if they live in Ireland. You can't say 'ginger', you have to say 'redhead'. Sometimes it's even worse. You're actually not meant to say 'fireman' you have to say 'fire-person'.
I think that it may be because of the way history has been written. History is always biased but mostly it varies. On some things it can't. You can't say "the whites enslaved the blacks" without sounding biased for the blacks. The thing is, history is meant to be studied so that 'our mistakes cannot be repeated'. But this has led to people saying that racism is the worst thing possible. There has been enormous speculation on an Australian KFC ad where a white man amidst a black population talked about feeling awkward. here is a link to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FftZt-Dw_hQ. I don't get why there is that much speculation. They were just trying to advertise their product.
The same can be said about disabilities.  In my CSPE book there is a poster on what you can and can't call a disabled person.  It  is crazy. Politicians would not be called 'full of hot air' if they could use unparlimentary language. So, in conclusion F**k you deputy political correctness

  1. Théo, if you look at history there have been a lot of abuses and discriminations. Sometimes being policaly correct shows that you are concern and you want those stupidities to stop. BTW, I think this Australian ad is crossing the line. Annie
