Praise posts : The things we love to blame

By the things we need to blame, I mean the government, the media and our leader. These people, though hated, know exactly what they are doing and get the job done to a T.
Take Barack Obama, for instance. He has done *beep*all since his presidency but he still one a nobel peace prize. Why? Because he knows how to manipulate the people. This is a skill so important that no politician would get anywhere without it. He could be like Hitler and people would love him because he would make them feel like what he wants to do is the right thing to do.
In Terry Pratchetts 'Discworld' series there is a character called Lord Ventinari. He is the leader of a country that is basically a small scale model of the world. He is an amazing leader because he has a golden tounge. He plans not just what he'll do, but what everyone else will do in reaction. One of his more outrageous plans which works was to create a thiefs guild making thiefs be allowed to steal a certain quota from the town every year and, in return, stop any illegal thieving.
The media are also exactly the same. They make you want what they sell. They entertain you with a jingle which you think of whenever you see the product and buy it for the laugh. Even the smaller branches of advertising are effective. For instance, one day I was in a car with some friends. A bulmers van drove by. I asked the driver if he'd ever had a bulmers. He told me that it had been a while but now he wants one, when he thinks about it. These little clicks are what make a product sell.

Praise posts: Stephanie Meyer

After making my first 'complaint post', I was asked in school by a friend to balance out my teenage negativity with some 'praise posts'. So here goes.
The same friend who told me to write these 'praise posts' also complained about Stephanie Meyer, author of 'Twilight'. He had started a facebook group on hating her. I feel different. She is an amazingly talented author who has gotten an entire generation into reading. I have read the books and they are brilliant. So what if the 'teenage vampire romance' genre is attacking us. Teenagers everywhere are reading. I think that that's a good thing frankly.
I think that the reason people who read alot are angry with Stephanie Meyer is in the same way that die-hard Micheal Jackson fans were annoyed when he died and everyone started buying his CDs. They had this unique, personal thing and suddenly it's been stolen by the crowd.
I am a little angry about the new 'teenage vampire romance' genre because it is kinda idiotic. You grow fangs and become a monster and suddenly everyone loves you. But these are just the hangers-on that any successee gets. She's been sued as well for stealing another persons idea  but so has J.K. Rowling.  Everyone want's their money.
  So what do you think?
