Moving ma' blog

I've moved my blog to http://theosotherdiary.wordpress.com/ for a translation function they offer which could be useful for my French family to see my post. Now I must stare at the empty house blog and shed a silent tear. Excuse me.

My Quest for internet

While some people do quests on the internet, I do quests for the internet. Anybody with a portable device that can use wifi knows what I am talking about when I talk about the endless toil that we go through every day to find wifi. That happened for me in a completely different way. Couple of things before I start, I don't do religion because I'm atheist and I use a laptop for school because of this. This 'quest taught me alot of things I didn't know about the school
I had a half day today, which meant that I only had two classes in between lunch and break (I normally have three) so I only had CSPE  and religion. I decided in CSPE to find the ICT teacher to get hooked up to the wireless. I figured this would only take five minutes so I would still be able to get my homework done. But little did I know that my laptop had other plans. It turned out that the ICT teacher didn't do Linux. He gave me the password, which it turned out I had wrong, but it still wouldn't work. He then told me to go to the IT technician, who was at the office.
THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW 1. We have an IT technician,

Following, my ICT teachers suggestion, I went to the office to look for The IT technician. The secretary told me he wasn't there but he was probably in room 15, a science lab, helping a miss XYZ ( I'm not using names because I realised that people I've never seen before read my blog and I don't want to disrupt anyones privacy). Now I thought that by miss XYZ she meant a science teacher who I used to have. I looked into room 15 and there was a class going on and teacher wasn't miss XYZ. The principal then caught me and told me I should try the server room, room 62. I went there and there was nobody there. I came back to the office and found miss XYZ there (the one who used to teach me). Now she hadn't been with Diarmaid but I learned a new thing
THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW 2. We have three miss XYZand two in science alone, though one is a science technician

THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW 3.  The person who continually walks through our class with trays full of stuff is miss XYZ, the science technician
So, after walking through 2 6th year classes (awkward!) We found out that the IT technician had gone back to the office. He took my laptop and I will have it back tomorrow.

Sexism

I am going to be mugged for this post but still, must keep freedom of expression up! I have  been thinking of the whole feminist idea lately and have found some flaws with it all.
For one, my year has about 3 or 4 very large home ec. classes. But there is not a single boy. And, since I'm pretty sure home ec. is about learning to be a homemaker, it surpasses me why these girls who do home ec. still find it sexist when a boy says that there are more female homemakers than male. It's like learning to play piano and then being angry when someone says that you play piano a lot.
I had exactly this conversation with a 9 year old girl in my karate class:
karate girl: why do you have long hair?
me: why do you have long hair
 karate girl: I'm a girl
 me: I'm a boy
karate girl: but boys aren't meant to have long hair
me: so your telling me that just because I'm a boy I'm not allowed have long hair?
karate  girl: pretty much.
me: OK just because you're a girl you have to cook and clean for the rest of your life

Yeah how do you like them muffins!  This just shows how you can only be sexist to girls and only rascist to black people. It's crazy!

Hallelujah!

Praise the lord! Only messing, I actually want to talk about the song, by Leonard Cohen. I have been learning to play the song on the piano and I love it. When it reaches the arpeggio bit (an arpeggio is a scale which goes through the 1st, the 3rd the 5th and the 8th note of the scale) it flows so well. It is incredibly fun to play that bit. The only problem with playing a song that I already know so well is that it's constantly stuck in my head. I find myself speaking it instead of singing it aswell.
I have probably been bragging about it to my friends but it's hard not to when the song is so badly stuck in my head. I have started trying to play it on the recorder but that's hard because the lowest note in the song is actually a pretty high note on the recorder, which makes playing the song devilishly difficult ( wow, I used the word devilishly!)
The version I like the most to listen to is, surprisingly, Alexandra burkes version. She is a great singer, though a horrible songwriter, and it is played simply but beautifully. I find that Leonard Cohen speaks his version rather than sings it and the other covers just shout alot

My Latest Conspiracy theory

Sorry I haven't blogged all week but I've been away and haven't been able to access the internet. I've decided to stop trying to reglurlay complain or praise etc. so I'll just analyse my blogs and tag them accordingly
We all get our little conspiracy theories. Lately I've been having a good couple. Willie O'Dea resigning has given me an idea of a new one.
So basically my theory is that the government are trying to (legally) change their old staff for some new, possibly better. Isn't it strange that any slight fraudulent slip made by a member of the government is instantly publicized and the person resigns very  quickly.  Their spot is then filled out by a different person, one who might have some idea of what to do with our country.
Isn't it strange that, even though the Daíl proceedings aren't broadcasted live every day, one little slip which, for all we know, happens every day, got a deputy and a minister fired. Not meant to happen people!

Complaint posts: The things society stole ooo and sanwiches

There are some things that just aren't done anymore. Making too much noise, reading in a street and ham without sandwiches. The one I most miss is ham without a sandwich. Ham is a very delicious form of meat and the bread really does take away from it's beauty. Sandwiches are boring, tough and quite bland. Eating ham on it's own is actually very nice. It may not be as healthy but it is still very nice. My favorite type of ham is a French version of serrano ham. It is ten times as nice without bread than it is with bread. But eating ham without bread just isn't done anymore. Don't get me wrong, I like sandwiches, but I prefer ham on it's own.
There are also words that society stole. A freind once pointed out that he wanted wordds like 'queer' ,'spastic' etc. back. I totally agree. these words are proper English words and I want them back!
Well that's pretty much all I have to say. Short post today.

Théo on: Music

After finding that I sometimes couldn't find what to praise, or complain about I decide I would start a new criteria of posts. This one can be called my 'Théo on' post. I was thinking that you guys comment with things you want me to blog about in my latest 'Théo on' post, and I'll blog about them. So for my first one, I will blog about music.
Music is a big part of my life. I remember the first day I really learnt about music was when I was eight, starting Piano. I was in my P.E. tracksuit on the day. It was in a big hall used for concerts. My first pieces were played on a grand piano! My teacher, ms. moore, is an elderly lady. This year she stopped teaching at the school of music so We now go to her house.
At first it was long, it was boring, and the tunes weren't any good. But  now the tunes are great. I sometimes find myself humming them. They are incredibly fun to play and I find myself reall wanting to play for fun. I have three pieces, a funeral march by Mozart, a prelude by Bach, and a Norwegian tune by Grieg. My pieces are all classical and I am itching to play a modern(ish) song.
I'm not as much a fan of listening to music as I am to playing it but I still love to listen to it. My taste in music is strange. I really hate hip-hop and most computerized music but I like old music. I've suddenly started loving The Who. I do like some new music, like Greenday, but I mostly live in an era I've never lived in.
So that's pretty much it.
